The Afar Regional Health Bureau, REACH Ethiopia, and the Zone-3,District Health Office have reaffirmed their strong commitment to enhancing TB program performance across the Zone.
At the conclusion of a productive two-day TB program performance review session — supported by the REACH Ethiopia Expertise France Project — the three parties reached a clear and unified commitment:
- To intensify coordinated efforts and accelerate program improvements in the coming months
- To strengthen implementation quality across all components of the TB program
- To use upcoming TB Commemoration Days as a platform for impactful, high-visibility interventions
- To transform commemoration events into practical learning platforms that inform the next phase of TB program implementation
As part of the proposed activities, partners will implement targeted community awareness campaigns, expand active TB case finding, strengthen treatment adherence support mechanisms, improve data quality and reporting systems, and enhance coordination across health facilities and community structures. These actions are expected to reinforce the full continuum of TB services from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.
Aligned with this year’s global theme, the initiatives will prioritize:
- Local solutions
- Community-led engagement
- Adherence to international recommendations and best practices
This renewed commitment reflects a shared vision: delivering measurable results, improving service quality, and bringing sustainable change to TB prevention and control efforts in Afar Zone 3. Together, we move forward with accountability, collaboration, and determination.
