TB REACH Project is mainly working on innovative community base approach to address neglected and poor Patients. This project focuses on earily identification, screening individuals with TB symptoms among contacts of an infectious Pulmonary TB , refering presumptive TB cases to catchment health centers for clinical diagnosis. while implimenting this project, the project uses motobike adressing and enhancing poor community who are suffering on TB. And LEDFM Microscope for quality TB diagnosis and treatment. Through the project period from 2011G.C-2015G.C REACH Ethiopia distributed 2 Genexpert machines for Yirgalem hospital and Aleta Wendo hospital. In addition 5 Genexpert machines to Gurage zone, Silte zone , Hadya zone and Adare hospital.Herewith REACH Ethiopia is the first to apply GeneXpert machine forTB diagnosis.
By implimentig this innovatve approach project throughout SNNPR Specially in Sidama zone, silte zone, Gurage zone, hadya Zone and south omo zone, The performance of the project invites REACH Ethiopia to receive 2014 Kochon Prize award.
