REACH Ethiopia, in collaboration with the Sidama Regional Health Bureau, is excited to announce the launch of the USAID Urban TB LON II – SWIF TB Initiative. This ambitious program aims to significantly reduce the burden of TB in Sidama region by:
• Prioritizing Patient-Centered Care: Ensuring that individuals with TB receive timely, high-quality care tailored to their specific needs.
• Strengthening Laboratory Capacity: Improving the accuracy and efficiency of TB diagnosis and treatment monitoring.
• Expanding Access to Rapid Diagnostics: Making rapid diagnostic tests more widely available to expedite diagnosis and treatment initiation.
• Implementing Community-Based Interventions: Empowering communities to play an active role in TB prevention and control.
• Promoting TB Prevention: Raising awareness about TB prevention strategies and risk factors.
This initiative will focus on identifying undiagnosed TB cases, delivering patient-centered care, and fostering innovative solutions to combat TB across 87 woredas in 10 zones, covering four regions: Oromia, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, and Sidama.
