TB Project Progress Reviewed in Semera: Action Plan Developed

A high-level project implementation status review was conducted in Semera on March 3, 2025, focusing on the Expertise France project, “Reaching Vulnerable and Key Affected Populations to Improve Access to TB Care in Pastoralist Areas of Ethiopia.” This project aims to bolster zonal efforts in combating tuberculosis.

The meeting convened key stakeholders, including Mr. Wittica Nure, Deputy Head of the Health Bureau; senior management and project teams from REACH Ethiopia; Regional Health Bureau senior TB program experts; and monitoring and evaluation teams. Participants reviewed the project’s progress over the past six months, addressing performance, future plans, and existing challenges. Through collaborative discussions, stakeholders identified achievements, obstacles, and strategies for improvement.

A key outcome of the review was the development of a structured action plan to guide project activities for the upcoming period. The meeting also strengthened stakeholder engagement, fostering improved collaboration and a shared understanding of the project’s implementation status. REACH Ethiopia reaffirms its commitment to this initiative, aiming to enhance project transparency and maximize its impact on vulnerable populations.

REACH Ethiopia grew out of a TB project that started in 2010. This project introduced an innovative community package that engaged health extension workers (HEWs) to increase TB case detection and treatment adherence.
