The USAID Urban TB LON II Activity has successfully conducted a quality improvement initiative around improving the TB screening capacity of 83 Urban and Rural Health Extension Professionals from Primary Health Care Units in Harar. These professionals are now equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver comprehensive community-based TB care services. Through this initiative, they can significantly improve early identification, diagnosis, treatment, and management of TB, leading to a substantial decline in TB incidence in urban settings.
By strengthening the capacity of these frontline health workers, we are creating a supportive environment that fosters the implementation of evidence-based TB interventions and ensures access to quality lifesaving TB care for all.
