The Urban TB LON II project funded by the U.S. Government and implemented in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopiarecently concluded a series of strategic zonal review meetings across southern Ethiopia.
Held in Yabello, Bule Hora, Dilla, and Negele Borena, these meetings marked a significant milestone in regional health coordination, engaging over 200 key leaders across the Borena, West Guji, Gedeo, and East Borena zones.

Driving Results through Leadership
Led by Zonal Administrators and Health Department heads, the sessions successfully secured robust political and technical commitments. The focus remains clear: accelerating progress toward our End-TB goals.

Key Strategic Outcomes
During the sessions, participants evaluated performance from the past five months, identifying critical areas for growth and sustainability:
- Expanded Coverage: Increasing access to TB treatment across all targeted zones.
- Diagnostic Excellence: Maximizing the utilization of GeneXpert technology for faster, more accurate detection.
- Community Integration: Deepening engagement at the local level to improve health outcomes.
- Institutional Sustainability: Leadership reached a consensus to establish and cascade TB Task Forces from the zonal level down to Primary Health Care Units (PHCUs).
