Knowledge is Power: How We’re Redefining TB Awareness

Awareness creation activities are vital for a successful TB program. Through the Urban TB LON II Project, supported by the U.S. Department of State, our teams are working on the front lines to close the gap in TB care.

In collaboration with healthcare workers, our team provides vital screening at both the community & facility levels. Simultaneously, we conduct education sessions to teach our communities that TB symptoms extend far beyond a simple cough; signs such as unexplained weight loss and night sweats… are critical red flags. By recognizing these symptoms early, we empower individuals to seek testing before the infection spreads.

Our Mission is Clear:
👉Achieve 100% treatment completion to prevent the rise of drug-resistant TB.
👉Eradicate the social stigma that keeps patients in the shadows.
👉Save lives.
When we normalize TB as a curable public health issue rather than a source of shame, we ensure every patient has the support and knowledge to recover without fear.

REACH Ethiopia grew out of a TB project that started in 2010. This project introduced an innovative community package that engaged health extension workers (HEWs) to increase TB case detection and treatment adherence.
