Collaborative Effort Brings Free TB Screening to the Community

St. Peter’s Specialized Hospital recently hosted a Summer Volunteer Free Health Screening and Treatment Program, with a special focus on combating tuberculosis (TB). The USAID Urban TB LON II Project participated in the event, providing critical digital X-ray screenings for TB. This initiative is vital for the early detection and prevention of the disease.

The collaborative program is a key part of the project’s mission to fight TB in urban areas and ensure communities have access to essential health services. By offering free screenings, the USAID Urban TB LON II Project can identify potential TB cases and provide timely referrals for treatment. This proactive approach not only helps individual patients but also reduces TB transmission within the community, aligning with global efforts to eradicate the disease. The project’s involvement highlights its commitment to community engagement and public health.
