We believe that investing in our frontline health care workers is the most effective way to combat TB. When health professionals are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge, they can detect TB cases faster, ensure patients receive timely treatment, and effectively stop the disease from spreading throughout our communities.
To support this goal, we recently partnered with the Addis Ababa City Administration Health Bureau to conduct a comprehensive TB refresher training program.

The training brought together 188 Urban Health Extension Professionals (UHEPs) and 12 supervisors from public health facilities across Addis Ababa. Through a dynamic combination of classroom instruction and practical, hands-on sessions, participants enhanced their expertise in several critical areas:
- To improv early identification of suspected cases.
- To ensure accurate testing and sustained support for patients.
- To Eqquip UHEPs to educate and mobilize communities against TB.

This training is a crucial step toward identifying more TB cases and improving overall access to treatment. By strengthening the capacity of our health teams, we are working to prevent the spread of both drug-susceptible and drug-resistant TB, ultimately saving lives .
This training was organized by REACH Ethiopia in collaboration with the Addis Ababa City Administration Health Bureau, through the USAID Urban TB Local Organizations Network (LON) II project supported by the US Government.
