As part of the USAID Urban TB LON-II Activity’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaborative implementation, quarterly performance review meetings are routinely conducted with key regional stakeholders. These sessions serve as an essential platform to evaluate progress, identify challenges, and align on strategic priorities in the fight against TB in urban settings.

For the April–June 2025 quarter, the high-level review meetings commenced with the Harari and Dire Dawa Regional Health Bureaus. On August 4, 2025, the first session was held in Harar, attended by Dr. Abdi Hassen, Head of the Harari Regional Health Bureau. This was followed by a second session on August 5, 2025, in Dire Dawa, in the presence of Dr. Tsigereda Kifle, Head of the Dire Dawa Administration.
In both meetings, the Chief of Party for the USAID Urban TB LON-II Activity presented a comprehensive overview of progress made during the quarter. These reviews included detailed performance data, implementation milestones, and discussions on key achievements and challenges. The sessions facilitated rich dialogue between implementing partners and regional leadership, reinforcing the alignment of the activity with regional TB control strategies. The regional health leadership acknowledged the critical contribution of the Activity to their respective TB prevention and control efforts. Both Dr. Abdi Hassen and Dr. Tsigereda Kifle expressed their gratitude to the United States Government and the American people for their continued support and the resumption of the Activity, which is instrumental in strengthening regional health systems and improving TB outcomes.

Concluding each session, actionable recommendations were outlined to address identified gaps and to enhance the effectiveness of future implementation. These high-level engagements reaffirm the shared commitment to ending TB and underscore the value of sustained partnerships.

Similar review sessions are planned with the Addis Ababa and Sheger City Health Bureaus in the coming days, continuing the quarterly review cycle and reinforcing the Activity’s results-driven approach.
