Strengthening Clinical Expertise: Advancing the Fight Against Drug-Resistant TB

Our Commitment to Capacity Building

A cornerstone of the Urban TB LON II Project is the systematic strengthening of our healthcare workforce. By equipping health professionals with the latest clinical knowledge and specialized skills, we are significantly enhancing the quality and reach of TB program services across Ethiopia.

Recent Milestone: National TOT on PMDT

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, we recently concluded an intensive 6-day Training of Trainers (TOT) focused on the Programmatic and Clinical Management of Drug-Resistant TB (PMDT).

This initiative brought together 33 health professionals from Treatment Initiation Centers (TICs) nationwide, ensuring representation from every region and city administration.

The Ripple Effect

Strengthening localized expertise at our Treatment Initiation Centers is vital for a robust, effective national response to DR-TB.

This cohort of trained professionals is now equipped to serve as regional pillars of knowledge. Upon returning to their respective facilities, they will lead local training sessions, transferring these critical skills to their broader healthcare teams. This peer-to-peer knowledge sharing is essential to improving DR-TB management, patient outcomes, and the overall stability of the national TB program.
