TB Integrated Refresher Training (IRT) is making a difference!

The USAID Urban TB LON II Activity has successfully trained a total of 80 Urban Health Extension Professionals from Primary Health Care Units of Addis Ababa to deliver comprehensive community-based TB care services. Through this TB integrated Refresher training (IRT), these professionals are now equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to significantly improve early identification, diagnosis, treatment, and management of TB, leading to a substantial decline in TB incidence in urban settings. Including, a two-day training, held on September 24 and 25, 2024, with a total number of 80 participants and the previous rounds of training 76, the total number of trained professionals reached 156. By strengthening the capacity of these frontline health workers, we are creating a supportive environment that fosters the implementation of evidence-based TB interventions and ensures access to quality TB care for all in Ethiopia.
