🌍 A New Chapter in Ethiopia’s Fight Against TB

REACH Ethiopia, with funding from the U.S. Government under the URBAN TB LON II Activity and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has officially launched a 25-day Intensified Active Case Finding Initiative  across selected high TB-burden woredas in four regions of Ethiopia.

👉 The Initiative aims to:

  • Screen more than 60,000 people for TB
  • Identify 6,000+ presumptive cases
  • Diagnose 600+ active TB cases through early detection in just 25 days.

đź’ˇ What makes this initiative groundbreaking is the use of Portable digital X-ray machines Powered by Artificial Intelligence. These cutting-edge tools enable quick, accurate, and community-level TB screening—bringing lifesaving services closer to where people live.

By detecting TB early, starting treatment promptly, and preventing further transmission, this campaign takes us one step closer to Ethiopia’s vision of ending TB by 2030.

Together, we can stop TB and save lives!

REACH Ethiopia grew out of a TB project that started in 2010. This project introduced an innovative community package that engaged health extension workers (HEWs) to increase TB case detection and treatment adherence.
