Empowering the next generation of health advocates

We successfully conducted an Advocacy Workshop on Drug-Susceptible (DS) and Drug-Resistant (DR -TB) tailored for school mini-media focal persons and school directors in Dire Dawa.

The main goals were to:

  • Strengthen awareness around DS-TB and DR-TB.
  • Enhance capacity for promoting TB prevention and early detection within school environments.
  • Encourage active engagement in community-wide TB advocacy.

This activity is made this possible through Urban TB LON II Project, Shama Birhan Women Living with HIV/AIDS Association in collaboration with Dire Dawa Adminstration Health Bureau

REACH Ethiopia grew out of a TB project that started in 2010. This project introduced an innovative community package that engaged health extension workers (HEWs) to increase TB case detection and treatment adherence.
